It is hard to believe that a book written in 1898 could have such vision and depth. I bought it thinking to have a little fun with a Jules Verne type steam punk romp, but what I found was War and Peace in space. The issues the characters raise about love, patriotism, free will are just as appropo today as when the book was written. And the hard science (it was written by a physicist) remains totally plausible even now.
Das ist sehr spannend geschrieben, ich konnte das Buch nicht beiseite liegen. Die Grundlagen der Freiheit der Menschen und der Liebe ist auch sehr tief berührt. Dieses buch ist auch für die Gegenwart geschrieben obwohl es über 100 Jahre alt ist.
